By A Staff Reporter — Flight operations at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport are experiencing significant disruptions due to Cyclone 'Dana,' affecting both domestic and international air travel. A total of 309 flights are impacted between 6:00 PM on October 24 and 9:00 AM on October 25 as the cyclone nears landfall.
According to airport authorities, domestic departures account for 149 affected flights, while 132 domestic arrivals are also impacted, bringing the total number of disrupted domestic flights to 281. International travel is similarly affected, with 14 international departures and 14 arrivals, making for a total of 28 international flights affected.
Indigo flight 6E 6344, scheduled to depart for Guwahati at 6:45 PM IST, will be the last flight departing from Kolkata before operations are suspended. The final arrival before the disruption was Indigo flight 6E 6344 from Amritsar, which successfully landed at 6:11 PM IST.
Passengers have been advised to check with their respective airlines for updates on flight schedules and to make necessary adjustments to their travel plans. The cyclone is expected to cause severe weather conditions, and authorities are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of travelers.
