Ex-Sandeshkhali MLA Nirapada Sardar Gets Bail From Calcutta HC

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant development, the Calcutta High Court granted bail to Ex-Sandeshkhali MLA and CPI(M) leader Nirapada Sardar on 27th February, Tuesday.

According to Calcutta HC, an FIR against Nirapada Sardar was filed before a day complaint was lodged. Furthermore, a bench of Justices Devangshu Basak and Mohammad Shabbar Rashidi granted unconditional bail to Nirpada Sardar and slammed the authorities for unethically arresting Sardar. 

Additionally, Nirpada Sardar was arrested on February 11 based on a complaint filed by TMC leader Shibu Hazara's friend Bhanu Mandal on 10th February. However, the FIR was filed on 9th February.

A village located in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, Sandeshkhali is witnessing significant clashes and violence following allegations of systematic sexual exploitations and land-grabbing committed by TMC leaders, Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazara, and Uttam Sardar. While others have been arrested, Shahjahan Sheikh remains absconding.
