ECI Directs Removal of Home Secretaries In Six States, DGP of Bengal

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Days after announcing the Lok Sabha Elections Schedule, the Election Commission of India has ordered the removal of home secretaries in six states along with the Director General of West Bengal Police on March 18, Monday.

The order has been issued for six states, namely Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Moreover, the Secretary of the General Administrative Department in Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh have also been removed.

Furthermore, the Election Commission of India of India has taken necessary steps to remove the DGP of West Bengal, Rajeev Kumar. 

Moreover, The ECI has removed Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal along with Additional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners. ECI has further removed the Secretary of the General Administration Department in Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh who are holding charge in respective CM’s Office.

The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on March 16. The election will be held in seven phases beginning on April 19. Moreover, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect since the announcement and will be imposed till the result declaration.
