Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj has accused Delhi's Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena of orchestrating the illegal felling of 1100 trees without proper authorization. Bharadwaj alleges that the incident occurred following the LG's visit to Ridge on February 3, prompting an NGO to challenge the action in court. Despite the Supreme Court rejecting subsequent permissions in March, it was revealed that the trees had already been cut down. In response, the court initiated criminal contempt proceedings against the Vice Chairman of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), criticizing the LG for issuing orders without written consent.
