BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent statement, Chief of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes Arun Haldar revealed that people of Sandeshkali are terrorized to speak on violence against them.

Moreover, Haldar mentioned that a report on violence-hit Sandeshkali has been submitted to President Droupadi Murmu and the President's rule is likely to be imposed in West Bengal. He further disclosed that the people of Sandeshkali are terrified to speak as they are threatened by TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh's gang. Haldar also stated that Article 338 of the Indian Constitution is being violated with the support of the state government as Scheduled castes and tribes are not secure in Sandeshkali.

An NCSC team headed by Arun Haldar visited Sandeshkali yesterday to investigate the allegations of sexual harassment and land-grabbing.

Protests against TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh and his associates for alleged land-grabbing and systemic sexual exploitations of women turned violent on 9th February. WB Governor C.V Ananda Bose visited Sandeshkali on 12th February and expressed grief on witnessing the grievances of the residents.
