Upendra Rawat revealed that a morphed video featuring him is going viral. Rawat further alleged that the perpetrators were not happy with him getting a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections as they are isolated and sidelined in politics. Rawat also stated that the video was created with Deepfake AI technology. Further, Rawat claimed that his face had been superimposed in an old video.

The morphed obscene video surfaced online two days after BJP announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Moreover, Upendra Rawat was set to contest from Barabanki constituency in Uttar Pradesh but will not contest until proven innocent.
