BY A STAFF REPORTER: In an unanticipated move, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Pratap Singh tendered his resignation from the party on March 16, Saturday in Madhya Pradesh. 

The 56-year-old MP is one of the senior leaders in BJP's Madhya Pradesh unit. Moreover, Ajay Pratap Singh's portfolio comprises many prominent positions in the party including state General Secretary, Vice President, and Secretary of BJP Madhya Madhya Pradesh Organization. Furthermore, he served as the chairman of Vindhya Development Authority in 2018, a position equivalent to Cabinet Minister. 

The move comes before the forthcoming general elections. Furthermore, the Election Commission of India is set to announce the schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections during a live stream across all social media platforms around 3:00 PM today.
