BJP MLA Ashok Kirtania Hands Akshat To Bangladeshi Hindus
The BJP MLA, accompanied by the Indian Hindu community, carried the Akshat on his head and handed it to the Bangladeshi Hindu community at Petrapole border's point zero.
BY A STAFF REPORTER: Ashok Kirtania, a Member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from the Bharatiya Janata Party, presented 'Akshat' (holy unbroken rice grains) to the Hindu community of Bangladesh on Wednesday.
The BJP MLA, accompanied by the Indian Hindu community, carried the Akshat on his head and handed it to the Bangladeshi Hindu community at Petrapole border's point zero. The Petrapole town of West Bengal shares a border with Bangladesh's Benapole. Moreover, the border guards' soldiers of both countries were present at the place.
Ashok Kirtania was elected as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from the North Bangaon constituency in May 2021. He is a member of the BJP.
