BY A STAFF REPORTER: The Bangladesh Foreign Minister, AK Abdul Momen on Monday came in support of Narendra Modi and condemned the Maldivian Member of Parliament for making controversial Anti-Modi remarks and deeming them unacceptable.

Momen further expressed that it is unacceptable and condemnable to pass derogatory remarks against any leader. Moreover, he stated that India-Bangladesh ties are very cordial. Mentioning the history, Momen talked about Pakistan's oppression and how India helped Bangladesh escape it. As a consequence, Bangladesh was formed as an independent country in 1971.

Additionally, He claimed that the ties between India and Pakistan have solidified under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, who was elected as Bangladesh's Prime Minister for the fifth time on the 7th of January Sunday.

The statement comes after the Maldivian MPs passed offensive comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Lakshadweep visit on their social media handles. This infuriated the whole nation which resulted in a #BoycottMaldives trend throughout social media and encouraging Indians to boost Lakshadweep tourism.
