Assam: Rs. 100 crores of Drugs Seized in Karimganj District

Assam police's Special Task Force in a joint operation with the Karimganj district police recovered forbidden drugs in an extensive quantity notably worth rs. 100 crores. Besides, the security forces also arrested four persons in the search operation.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Assam police's Special Task Force in a joint operation with the Karimganj district police recovered forbidden drugs in an extensive quantity notably worth rs. 100 crores on Tuesday 8th January. Besides, the security forces also arrested four persons in the search operation.

The security forces retrieved a substantial quantity of heroin, about 5.1 kg along with 64,000 Yaba tablets. Moreover, international-labeled cigarettes were also seized in the operation. 

Assam is currently on a 'Narcotics war' where the chief minister Himanta Biswa aims to tackle the illegal drug possesion, consumption, and trafficking crises and make India drug-free by 2047.
