BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent development, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneshwar on Tuesday carried out a successful experiment of supplying superior healthcare services through drones in Odisha.

Carrying essential blood supplies, the drone traveled a distance of 120 km from AIIMS Bhubaneshwar to Cuttack's Community Health Centre (CHC) Tangi in 1.10 hours. Moreover, the supplies weighed around 2 Kg. No operational issues surfaced during the flight. Furthermore, the operation was conducted in the presence of Ashutosh Biswas, Director of AIIMS Bhubaneshwar. On the successful trial, Biswas stated that these services would be very useful in flood and cyclone-affected areas. Moreover, the service will be transporting other materials too
