BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent statement, Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress president and leader of the party (Rajya Sabha) criticized President Droupadi Murmu's speech during the Interim Budget Session in Delhi's New Parliament building on Wednesday.

Kharge further asserted that President Murmu's speech was only about praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and their government. Furthermore, he termed the speech as propaganda and advertisement for Modi. Kharge also claimed that the speech was not relevant in terms of employment and it was a document to entrap the destitute citizens of India.

The Interim Budget Session commenced on Wednesday 31st January with President Droupadi Murmu's address to the joint sitting of two houses in the new parliament building. Moreover, it will continue till 9th February. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the interim budget on 1st February. While addressing the media, Narendra Modi further informed that the full budget will be presented once the new government is formed. The interim budget is being presented ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls in 2024.
