BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent development, the accused perpetrators of the latest Haldwani violence were brought to the Kotwali police station on 10th Feb. 

Moreover, the Nainital SSP Prahlad Narayan informed that five people have been arrested in the case while a search operation for the rest is underway. The authorities are searching for Abdul Malik, the accused in the case. Furthermore, three FIRs have been registered concerning the case. 

An anti-encroachment drive resulted in major violence and clashes between perpetrators and cops in Haldwani's Banbhoolpura area. Responding to the violence, the administration imposed a curfew with a 'shoot-on-sight' order.
