Delhi, India — A tragic accident occurred in Krishan Vihar, Delhi, when an LPG cylinder explosion led to a partial collapse of a two-story house, resulting in the death of a 24-year-old woman named Rajni. The blast, reported near RD Public School in Q-Block, caused significant structural damage, bringing down half of the ground-plus-one-floor residence.

The Delhi Fire Service received the emergency call and immediately dispatched two fire tenders to the location. According to officials, the explosion was intense, severely damaging the building’s structure and leading to the fatality of Rajni on the spot. Another woman who was in the vicinity of the blast sustained burn injuries and was quickly rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a gas leak may have led to the tragic incident, causing the blast upon ignition. The fire department has since initiated a safety inspection of surrounding buildings to ensure no further hazards exist.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion, followed by scenes of destruction and debris in the vicinity. Local authorities have cordoned off the area, and a detailed inquiry is underway to determine the precise cause and any additional safety lapses that may have contributed to the accident.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns around LPG safety in residential areas. The Delhi Fire Service has advised residents to regularly inspect gas cylinders and connections, and promptly address any suspected leaks to prevent such accidents.
