Known as the Indigenous group of people. The term "Indigenous" refers to culturally distinct groups affected by colonization.
They are also known as the Aboriginals. They are categorized in three groups The First Nations, The Metis & The Inuit.
Although the term Indians for these people are used in legal documents But , the use of the term 'Indian' & 'Eskimo' have fallen into disuse in Canada & most considered them to be pejorative.
The First Nations , Metis and the Inuit people of all backgrounds have become prominent figures and served roles in the Indigenous community and helped to shape the Canadian Cultural Identity
