T&T BUSINESS CHAMBER PRESIDENT SAYS BUSINESS EXPECTED TO PICK UP FOLLOWING THE LIFTING OF THE COUNTRY’S SoE

By a staff reporter:
As Trinidad and Tobago’s Government gets ready to lift the State of Emergency implemented in May of this year as an additional measure to curb the covid 19 spread in the country, one Business Chamber President told ie News that there is now an air of excitement within his burgess.
President of the Chaguanas Chamber of Industry and Commerce Richie Sookhai said business owners are now looking forward to an uptick in sales and commerce as well as the re-hiring of staff…
According to Mr Sookhai, despite the increase in covid 19 cases and the low vaccination rates, lockdowns are no longer an option as they have proven to only add to an already uncertain trend. He said the key solution is to consider other management styles alongside a continuous vaccination drive.
The Chamber President was quick to note however that they continue to be cautious of criminal elements resurfacing as a result of the lifting of the SoE, but has assured that there is collaboration with several other agencies to ensure a safe shopping season ahead.
