T&T BARKEEPERS ASSOCIATION CLAIMS DISCRIMINATION FROM POLICE OFFICERS

The Barkeepers and Operators Association of Trinidad and Tobago claims that members of the TTPS safe zone inspection team are wrongfully charging and terrorizing patrons by only accepting original proof of vaccination which is in contravention of the public health ordinance. Speaking with ie news on Tuesday its President Satesh Moonasar said the action is not taking place in any other part of the country but South Trinidad…which is of concern to them.

He said the Association has written to DCP MacDonald Jacob requesting his immediate intervention in this matter and has requested a meeting to discuss this matter as well as allegations of police protected safe zone establishments that are in violation of the health ordinance throughout the country.

And with the upcoming festive season almost in full swing, Mr Moonesar assured that all protocols remain in place for owners and operators. He did note however that with the reopening of such establishments, some unvaccinated persons have tried to enter the safe zones.
