By a staff reporter: No faith in Minister Sinanan’s words… that’s how the Chairman of the UNC and the MP for Oropouche West Davendranath Tancoo is describing the Minister of Works and Transport’s assurance that critical landslips in South Trinidad have been earmarked to be dealt with… Responding to questions in the Parliament on Friday Minister Rohan Sinanan said his Ministry is collaborating with 2 geologists to first assess the areas before action can be taken. While the Minister could not give a definitive date for the completion of the study as according to him it is an ongoing exercise, a list has been complied of the more critical landslips to be repaired. Now responding to this in an interview with ie News on Monday, Mr Tancoo said based on the Minister’s broken promises in the past, this is not likely to happen anytime soon.
