MEDICAL EXPERTS IN T&T CONCERNED OVER LOW VACCINATION RATES IN SEVERELY COMPROMISED INDIVIDUALS

By a staff reporter:

Not enough dialysis patients are getting vaccinated, according to Dr Emile Mohammed, Clinical Coordinator of the North-West Regional Health Authority's COVID-19 parallel healthcare system. Speaking at Monday's media briefing by the Ministry of Health, Dr Mohammed said between May and October, there were 259 COVID-19 patients receiving dialysis, of which 30.5 per cent of them have since died.

He further appealed to all dialysis patients to get vaccinated and urged those who already took their jabs to take their third dose.
