Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan has fired back at the Opposition for what he describes as their way to destabilize the country… In an interview with ie News on Friday, amidst several protests which have been taking place, to express poor road conditions and multiple land slips in the first instance, Minister Sinanan said he believes that it is not just about the roads, rather the Opposition’s October Revolution actions. He told us that despite the challenges his Ministry continues to face, Gov’t continues to do its best… He quickly assured however now that additional allocations have been allowed for his Ministry, those with issues may soon find relief
It was some 3 days ago that MP for Oropouche West Davendranath Tancoo would have highlighted that Tulsa Trace and environs flooded again, courtesy of the Minister. Mr Tancoo said this is the very same site where Minister Sinanan had stated 5 weeks ago that a pump was to be installed. That pump he said was in the country since mid-September. He said with no pump to push the water at the sluice gates, huge volumes of water flows back into the Blackwater Channel in an easterly direction… affecting thousands of residents.
Responding to this concern from ie News, Minister Sinanan noted that the pumps are part of an ongoing project and cannot operate by itself.
