Transport corporation's puja parikrama closed due to hike in diesel prices

BY A STAFF REPORTER

The West Bengal Transport Corporation has decided to stop the puja parikrama organized to visit Durga idols this year due to abnormal diesel price rise. It is also being stopped to show immersion in ganga baksha at the launch on Dashami day. Last year, even during corona infection, during the puja, the Transport Corporation organized a bus to see Thakur in Kolkata on a tram. But kolkatans did not respond to that initiative. The transport corporation suffered huge financial losses as the number of passengers was not very high. A department official said an initiative was taken to visit Thakur with only 25 per cent passengers at that time. As a result, it was not possible to raise the cost for business ventures. So this time the transport corporation is stopping all efforts to show Thakur with a lot of thought.
