Congress in doldrums in Punjab as Captain Amarinder inches towards BJP and Sidhu resigns as PCC chief

BY A STAFF REPORTER
It's a bad Tuesday for the Congress. According to political analysts, Congress has almost gifted Punjab on a platter to the Opposition. Now Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is the front runner with BJP led alliance closely following behind in one of the most dramatic topsy turvy elections Punjab has ever seen in the state's history. The day started with former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh moving to Delhi to meet the BJP top brass amid speculations that he will join the saffron party and most likely to be inducted in the union cabinet.  No sooner had the dust settled, the newly appointed Punjab Pradesh Congress chief Navjyot Singh Sidhu resigned claiming that he cannot compromise on Punjab's future. Congress has been left high and dry and rudderless in run up to the polls.
