HC pulled up Chief Secretary, Bhabanipore election on schedule

The Kolkata High Court has come down heavily on the chief secretary, HK Dwivedi mentioning that he behaved more as `` a servant of the political party in power then a public servant.'' A division bench of acting chief justice, Rajeev Bindal and Rajarshi Bharadwaj, held that election to Bhabanipore assembly constituency will be conducted as per schedule on September 30. However acting chief justice Bindal and Justice Bharadwaj recorded their strong reservation about the conduct of the Chief Secretary on writing a letter to the Election Commission that there would be a constitutional crisis in case a by-election to the Bhabanipur constituency is not held.
