​Twist to tale: BJP leader Manas Saha died of stomach infection, claims police

Did BJP leader and party candidate from Magrahat West Manas Saha die of head injuries suffered after allegedly being assaulted by TMC supporters? According to investigations carried out by Diamond Harbour police, Saha died of acute stomach infection. Police said Saha's wife had even complained of medical negligence to senior health department officials. Police said Saha had recovered from his injuries after the assault on May 2 in front of the counting centre but subsequently developed intense stomach pain. He was admitted to hospital but his condition deteriorated. Police claimed that there is documentary evidence including medical reports to support their investigations.
