Nearly 70 teaching staff of the Kabul University resigned after the Taliban on Wednesday sacked vice-chancellor Muhammad Osman Baburi, a PhD holder and replaced with Muhammad Ashraf Ghairat, who only has a BA degree, news agency ANI reported on Thursday. The appointment of Ghairat has led to protests on social media. Critics highlighted a tweet by Ghairat in 2020 where he justified the killing of journalists.
