​IPS officers spat over corruption charges

An unprecedented battle of attrition has broken out between IPS officers in North Bengal. The Deputy Inspector General of police, Jalpaiguri range, Annappa E has complained against the SPs of Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri to the state home department. According to West Bengal police sources, Annappa has levelled serious charges of corruption against the two IPS officers. Incidentally, SP Alipurduar, Bholanath Pandey was in the eye of the storm following the attack on BJP national President JP Nadda's convoy enroute Diamond Harbour for a political campaign before the polls. Pandey, who was SP of Diamond Harbour  was subsequently shunted out but later rehabilitated as SP of Alipurduar. ANM News have also learnt that the two SPs have also levelled allegations of corruption against the DIG. Sources said the DIG and the two SPs are not on talking terms for the last two weeks.
