Why Teacher's Day is celebrated?

By Staff Reporter: On September 5, we all celebrate Teacher's Day on the occasion of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's birthday. But do you know why Teacher's Day is celebrated on this day?

When Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was appointed as the second President of Independent India. Then some of his student and close friend wanted to celebrate his birthday. However, he did not agree. Instead he told them to celebrate his birthday as Teacher’s Day. Since then, September 5 has been celebrated as Teacher's Day in India.
