In order to settle the dispute, it was decided that the one who can travel the world first will be given the marriage first. Similarly, before Karthika, he went out with the peacock around the world. However, Ganesha goes on thinking about how he will travel the world with rats before Karthika. Eventually he traveled around his parents and reported that he had traveled the world according to the scriptures. And his marriage was consummated first.
