Fake currency notes of Rupees 100 in circulation in city, racket busted, three arrested

Security agencies believe that a large number of fake Indian 100 rupee currency notes are in circulation in the city and suburbs. The sensational disclosure came to light after Customs raided a house in Darapara in Park Circus. Investigators found fake Indian currency of the denomination of Rs 100 amounting to Rs 43600. According to Customs sources, the kingpin Mehtab Rana alias Baccha Raja allegedly confessed that he has been circulating the fake currency notes over the last one and half years. The fake currency notes are made in special papers through computers and a special green ribbon. Customs handed over the accused to the STF of Kolkata police. Apart from Kingpin Rana, Mohammed Sameer Hossein, and Mohammed Kaiser Alam were arrested.
