Fierce fighting in Panjshir, Taliban convoy hit, many dead

Fierce fighting has broken out near Panjshir valley, about 125 kilometres from Kabul between the Northern Alliance and Taliban. Ahmed Massod along with other regional warlords are holding out against the marauding Taliban forces in the valley. The Northern Alliance has been able to strike at a convoy of Taliban mercenaries approaching the valley.
