Sensex crosses 54 Thousand for first time and Nifty scales at 16,200

​By a Staff Reporter: Banks like HDFC, ICICI have been looting profits since morning. Sensex sets record as markets open. The Sensex rose nearly 400 points to cross the 54,000 mark on Wednesday morning. The Nifty also rose 124.25 points to 16,255, another record.



The stock market has been on the rise for the past few days after overcoming the ebb of the past few months. The BSE Sensex index rose 478.84 in a single row as the market opened this morning. The Sensex rose points to 54,298.20. The Sensex is currently 415.33 points higher than the initial market trend.



HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Dr. Reddy's Lab, Infosys, Reliance have made the most profit as soon as they open the market on this day. On the other hand, shares of Bharti Airtel, Nestle India, SBI, HUL and Ultratech Cement have suffered some losses.



The Sensex had risen 872.73 points to 53,000 at the close of the market yesterday. The Nifty also rose 245.60 points to an all-time high of 16,130.75.
