Multilingual Poets Meet on the occasion of World Poetry Day

Sahitya Akademi, Regional Office, Kolkata has organised an online Multilingual Poets' Meet on the ocassion of World Poetry Day. The meet was chaired by eminent Bengali poet Subodh Sarkar. Other poet participants were Suresh Ranjan Goduka (Assamese), Aurobindo Uzir (Bodo), S. Sampath Kumar (English), Krishna Mohan Jha (Hindi), Beauti Tokbipi (Karbi), Lincoln Murasingh (Kokborok), Vidyanand Jha (Maithili), Kshetriyum Subadani (Manipuri), Krishna Prasad Bhattarai (Nepali), Madhuri Panda (Odia) and Arjun Charan Hembram (Santali), who recited their poems along with Hindi/English translations. Devendra Kumar Devesh, Regional Secretary, Sahitya Akademi while compering the programme said about the positive and important role and place of poetry in our day to day life.
