By A Staff Reporter: In a major reshuffle of the state police, more than 50 senior IPS officers were shifted with the axe falling on Bholanath Pandey, SP of Jangipur after TMC lost Sagardighi by election.
Interestingly, although IPS officers who recently got promoted as DIGs but continued as SP of districts and divisions in Kolkata police were transferred with the sole exception of controversial police chief of Cooch Behar, Sumit Kumar.
Sankha Subhro Chakraborty is the new joint commissioner of police, crime, while Surya Pratap Yadav is the new DC traffic. A Tripurari replaced Sanjay Singh as ADG western range, while Sudeep Sarkar is the new DIG Malda range.
