BY A STAFF REPORTER: The Indian Air Force has chosen Group Captain Shalija Dhami to take over as commander of the Frontline Combat Unit in the Western Sector. For the first time in the history of the Indian Air Force, a woman officer has been given the command of a frontline combat unit. Earlier this month, the Army for the first time started giving command duties to women officers outside the medical stream.
