BY A STAFF REPORTER: A Southwest Airlines plane from Havana to Fort Lauderdale made an emergency landing at José Martí Airport in Cuba after its engine caught fire. A Southwest Airlines spokesman confirmed the accident. Southwest Flight 3923 from Havana, Cuba, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was hit by birds in the engine and nose shortly after take-off. No one was seriously injured in the incident and all passengers landed safely in Havana.
