BY A STAFF REPORTER: Italy's coast guard said on Friday it had rescued 211 migrants from the island of Lampedusa. The migrants were detained while boarding a fishing boat about 28 km south of Lampedusa, the Coast Guard said in a statement. "The operation was carried out in adverse weather and sea conditions and an immigrant was handed over to the police on suspicion of being a human trafficker," the statement said. "
