Japan's lower house of parliament passes record budget

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Japan's lower house of parliament on Tuesday passed a record 114.4 trillion yen ($839.3 billion) budget for the next fiscal year starting in April, a ruling party lawmaker said. The 2023 fiscal year's budget talks about tackling the threat from strong China and North Korea, and quickly seeking welfare spending for the aging population. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's government has already taken another plan to double the cost of childcare, despite the huge amount of government debt.
