Recently, a 34-year-old man in Equatorial Guinea was transferred from a private hospital to the isolation unit of La Fe Hospital in Valencia. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the mortality rate from the Marburg virus can be up to 88 percent. There are no vaccines or antiviral treatments approved to treat it.
