BY A STAFF REPORTER Chinese Army has pitched tents on Indian side of the Charding Nala in Demchok in eastern Ladakh. Army officials said the people occupying these tents are “so-called civilians'', and have stayed put despite India asking them to go back a few times. The last time Corps Commander-level talks were held to discuss the disengagement and eventual de-escalation in eastern Ladakh was in April. India and China have been involved in a stand-off since May 2020. China had offered for the 12th Corps Commander-level talks to be held on Monday, however, India asked for the discussions to be postponed by a few days since it observes July 26 as Kargil Day to commemorate the victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War.
