BY A STAFF REPORTER: Ukraine officials said Russia launched missile attacks across Ukraine on Thursday after Western allies pledged to increase military support to ukraine's armed forces. Ukrainian officials said the southern air defense forces shot down eight Kalibor missiles fired from a ship in the Black Sea, but other missiles hit northern and western Ukraine as well as nipropetrovsk and kirovograd in the central region.
