Maharashtra rains: many dead, areas cut off, situation grim

Torrential rains wreaked havoc in Maharashtra causing extensive damages in the entire region. Raigad was the worst affected with more than 60 persons dead. The Maharashtra government has rushed NDRF teams for relief and rescue operations. Most of the areas in the region remained cut off with massive flooding in streets and fields. Water has also seeped inside houses forcing people to look for shelter.
