V. Raman. He discovered the Raman effect in 1928 and the day of discovery was February 28. For this reason, he won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. In 1986, the National Council for Science and Technology Communication declared this day as National Science Day. And the following year, i.e., in 1987, it was first celebrated.
