On 22 July, 2021, BSF troops under South Bengal Frontier apprehended 3 Bangladeshi women in two different incidents from the area of Border Out Post Tarali, North 24 Parganas district. Two of them are trying to enter into Bangladesh from India, while 1 Bangladeshi woman was trying to enter into India from Bangladesh by crossing the International Boundary illegally.
On July 22, 2021, in a statement issued by the Border Security Force, it was stated that on the basis of information received by the Intelligence Branch of the Border Security Force about 02 Bangladeshi women trying to cross the International Boundary, the troops of the Border Out Post Tarali, 112 Battalion were got alerted. Around 1805 hours, troops observed movement of some suspicious persons near the Border road. When the troops on duty challenged them, they started running away from the spot. Troops chased them and took both the women into custody. However, the rest managed to escape back to Indian territory taking advantage of the dense population. The apprehended women were brought to the Border Out Post Tarali for further interrogation.
During preliminary questioning, the women were identified as Manju Sardar, age- 40 years, W/o– Baijlu Sardar and Rani Sardar, age– 22 years, W/o– Aslam Sardar. Both are residents of village- Benapole, PS- Sarsa, District– Jashore, Bangladesh. During questioning, the woman told that both of them are Bangladeshi citizens, and had illegally crossed the International Boundary with her husband Baijlu Sardar and came to India in search of employment twenty years ago. After coming to India, they moved to Jugberia, North 24 Parganas (West Bengal) and started working as a laborer there. Today morning (July 22) when she was trying to cross the International Boundary illegally to go back to Bangladesh, she was caught by the BSF. She further told that she had paid Rs 12,000/- to an Indian broker for facilitate border crossing.
In another incident, on 22 July, 2021, at 1210 hours, the troops of Border Out Post Tarali, 112 Battalion observed the movement of a suspicious woman near the International Boundary. She was trying to enter into Indian territory from Bangladesh. On being challenged by BSF troops, she tried to flee away. The troops chased and took the woman into custody. The apprehended woman was brought to the Border Out Post Tarali for further interrogation. The woman was identified as Jamuna Mandal, age- 32 years, W/o- Subash Mandal, Village- Thana Ghata, PS- Ashasuni, District- Jashore, Bangladesh.
During questioning, the woman told that she is a Bangladeshi citizen and had illegally crossed the International Boundary with her husband Subash Mondal eight years ago in search of employment in India. After coming to India, she moved to Ballabhpur, North 24 Parganas (West Bengal) and started working as a laborer there. About 06 months ago she went to Bangladesh illegally crossing the international boundary to meet her family and today morning (July 22) when she was trying to cross the International Boundary illegally to go to India from Bangladesh, BSF caught her. She further told that she paid Rs. 8,000/- to an Indian broker for crossing the border.
The three apprehended women were handed over to the Police Station Swaroop Nagar for further legal action.
In a statement issued by the BSF, the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the India-Bangladesh border. Due to which infiltrators and touts are being arrested. Many important revelations are being made in the interrogation. On the basis of which it is helping in taking strict action against the people and touts who come illegally in the interior areas of the country.
