U.S. working to recover suspected Chinese spy balloon

General Glenn Van Hark, commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, said: "Our U.S. Navy is currently conducting recovery operations. The U.S. Coast Guard is helping to secure the area and maintain public safety. China says the balloon has been used for weather and other scientific purposes. '
