Mamata Banerjee to decide East Bengal's fate

The two warring groups in East Bengal has expressed faith in Chief minister Mamata Banerjee to help tide over the crisis. In an unprecedented incident, the two groups of club supporters had come to blows in front of the Club premises following which police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the crowd. A vast majority of East Bengal supporters were protesting against the current management's reluctance to sign the draft agreement with sponsors, HM Bangur led Shree Cement. A senior official of the club, Debabrata Sarkar expressed hope that chief minister will be able to wriggle out a solution. ANM News tried to get in touch with HM Bangur but he did not respond to calls.
