Assembly elections held in Meghalaya. Ahead of election NPP has released its manifesto for the upcoming elections. Meghalaya's ruling National People's Party (NPP) has promised to create five lakh jobs in the next five years if voted to power in the state. Releasing the party's manifesto titled 'People's Document' in Jowai, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said, "Employment will be created in tourism, agro-processing and digital sectors. "The People's Document outlines the NPP's vision of creating 5 lakh jobs and employment opportunities for the youth. Special attention has been given to entrepreneurship, tourism, agro-processing and knowledge/digital sectors in urban and rural areas of the state. "
