EC withholds by-election for a Parliamentary constituency in Lakshadweep

By A Staff Reporter: The Election Commission of India postponed the by-election to a parliamentary seat in Lakshadweep today. The Election Commission took this decision after the Kerala High Court on January 25 found former Lakshadweep MP Mohammad Faizal guilty. By-elections to one assembly constituency each in Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, two assembly constituencies in Maharashtra and one parliamentary constituency in Lakshadweep were scheduled to be held on February 27.
