BY A STAFF REPORTER: Assembly elections will be held in 3 states of northeast India this year. These states include Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland. Political parties have started their preparations ahead of the elections. Polling in Tripura will begin on February 16. Meanwhile, the BJP has announced the list of candidates for the upcoming elections. Out of the total 60 seats, the BJP has announced candidates for 48 seats. The names of the remaining 12 candidates will be announced soon. According to the list of candidates, the chief minister of the state, Dr Manik Saha, will contest from Bardowali constituency.
