The government awarded service medals to several senior officers for their services to the nation during the Republic Day. Among the recipients are deputy director general of Narcotics Control Bureau, Sanjay Singh,
additional director general of police law and order West Bengal, Javed Shamim,
inspector general of police, CID, West Bengal, Sunil Choudhury,
additional director general of police, Jammu and Kashmir, Vijay Kumar,
deputy inspector general of police NIA, KB Vandana.
Sanjay Singh led the re investigations into the infamous drug smuggling charges against filmstar Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan. KB Vandana is one of few women officers to have completed anti terrorism training and was in charge of of Kerala gold smuggling case.
