One of the attractions of Republic Day is the parade, know its history

By A Staff Reporter : One of the highlights of Republic Day is the parade.There is no end to the frenzy among people to see the parade of armed forces on the streets of the capital.This special parade was held for the first time in 1950 and people from all over the country watch every moment of this special event in the media every year.This special parade starts from Rashtrapati Bhavan and reaches Red Fort via Rajpath and India Gate. 

The President hoisted the national flag there.Every year some foreign statesman is present as a special guest.The then President of Indonesia Sukarno came as a special guest in the 1950 parade.In the entire parade, the army, navy and air force of the country's military departments move forward one by one to the rhythm of musical instruments. Along with this, there are well-decorated tableaus with themes of various states and Union Territories which highlight the culture of that state.
